Bishop's Insight
Dear Beloved Congregation,
I greet you in the powerful name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Today, I want to share with you an inspiring story from the Bible that speaks to the unwavering faith and trust in God that we should all strive to embody.
Let's turn to the book of Daniel, chapter 3, where we find the account of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These three young men were faced with a life-threatening situation - they were commanded to worship a golden image set up by King Nebuchadnezzar. However, they remained steadfast in their faith, refusing to bow down to any other god but the one true God.
Despite the threat of being thrown into the fiery furnace, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego declared their allegiance to God, saying, "If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand" (Daniel 3:17).
As we know, these faithful men were indeed thrown into the furnace, but to everyone's amazement, they were not harmed. In fact, they were joined by a fourth figure in the fire, whom many believe was an angel of the Lord. When they emerged from the furnace unscathed, King Nebuchadnezzar was astounded by the power of their God.
This story serves as a powerful reminder that when we put our trust in God and remain faithful to Him, He will always deliver us from the fires of adversity. Just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, may we never waver in our faith, knowing that our God is a mighty deliverer and protector.
Let us hold fast to the promise in 2 Corinthians 2:14, that God always causes us to triumph in Christ. May we walk in victory and faith, knowing that we serve a God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.
Stay blessed and continue to walk in faith and victory.
Yours in Christ,
Bishop Lilia A. Bayne
